I'm a big fan of Certina DS-1 models (with the bezel), especially the Himalayas version but at 40mm with a narrow/thin bezel, it looks much bigger on my wrist than the Carrera does. (not sure what the current situation with the dials actually is they changed them a while back so I'm not sure what the dial texture on the black is now) In any case, the current model with the angled hour markers and sunburst dials are very good looking and a very good 39mm with a wider, chunkier bezel than a lot of the usual alternatives. If you don't like the broad arrow style of the AquaTerra minute hand then it wouldn't be an alternative. On the flip side, it can also be a question of what you don't like. If it's the angular faceted lugs you like then there aren't really any alternatives except maybe an AquaTerra where the twisted lugs have the same sort of thing going on. Pretty much every watch brand makes that sort of watch:
